What Not To Wear Enlarge photo Thursday, October 4, 2007 Holy Crap. I have big news! I was in NYC Tuesday for a private event and guess who the host was? The host of one of my favorite TV shows, Stacy London from TLC’s What Not To Wear. I was so excited when I walked in and saw her. She and I got along famously. I told her to come out and visit us at the CMA's. Although she would probably ream all of us for our style or lack thereof! Scotty, Aden and I got our pic with her and she gave Scotty a few fashion tips. She’s also is a fan of another one of my favorite stars, Mariska Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU. She got to interview her on the red carpet at the Emmys and she said she freaked. I would too. Believe it of not stars get "star struck"! Anyway, that made the trip to the city great. I also went out to this bar called the Spotted Pig with my friend John Eddie (a really great artist) from NJ. It’s owned by Jay-Z, who happens to be Beyonce's BF, and several other rock stars. I bet she has been there. Too bad she wasn't there on Tuesday. I would have gotten to “germ” two people I love! (Germ is an industry term for acting like a crazed groupie and freaking out when you see someone famous, in case you didn’t know.)
I can’t wait till Nov. 10th! It's my birthday celebration at Joe’s Bar in Chicago. I requested to play there on my b-day b/c, as you all know, I love to play there. One of my favorite new artists, Adam Hood, is playing before me. As a singer/songwriter I am constantly looking for new music that inspires me and he does just that. His music is as raw and real as his Alabama accent. I know ya'll are going to love him. My good friend Kacey Musgraves (you may know her from last season of Nashville Star) is playing some songs between us in Chicago. She is great too and I can't wait for you to hear her live. All of us are staying over and going back to Joe's to see Adam Hood again on Sunday. Kacey will be playing a couple of songs again and I think John Eddie is gonna play too. I encourage anyone coming in for the show to make a weekend out of it.
My 2nd annual Rummage Sale is coming up on Sat. Oct 13th. All the proceeds go to none other than my charity: The Humane Society of Smith County. We’re gonna start the eBay sale on the 6th for those who can’t come to Lindale. There is some really cute stuff in there this year, so check it out.
My brother, Luke, is moving to Austin this week to start getting ready for college. Me and the guys have enjoyed having him out with us this summer and fall. He is going to be roommates with Kacey. She is gonna start playing around town so if you are in South Texas or any where she’s playing, be on the lookout for her. You can check her out at kaceymusgraves.com. I know they are totally excited. It's their first place. He's going to be a Longhorn. I am a new fan of college football now simply because I have a reason. Plus I need something to cheer for during Nascar's down time.
Well I guess that’s all I have for now. Don't forget…. Love a shelter pet.

Galleywinter:20 Questions with Miranda Enlarge photo Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Miranda Lambert is taking the attitude and music of Texas to the masses. Her successful recording and touring career are models of how to do things the right way. Along with producer Frank Lidell (Jack Ingram, Chris Knight, Mando Saenz, Eli Young Band), Lambert has crafted a raw, yet accessible canon of songs that have made her a national success. On October 13th, she's taking part in the BIG STATE FESTIVAL right here in her beloved home state of Texas, and she took time out of her extremely busy schedule to take a stab at my Twenty Questions. Her insight is humorous and candid while leaving you with the feeling that this young Texan is determinedly focused and destined for greatness. -Brad
